As Argentina is starting to impliment acts and laws that go against the church so are other countries in Latin America are doing. Allowing gay marrige is a major strike against the connection between the government and the church which some people are quite upset about, starting protests and riots. This isn't the first time that countries in Latin America are fighting the fndimental issues with the church and having control in the government, such as Brazil using contraseptives and other's legalizing divorce.
This is intresting to see the continuation of the church's loss of power in the government as it used to be so strong in the past but as the world has changed so has the imediate needs and policies of countires. Seeing that the globilization of the ideas of the new normal has spead it has affected and almost desimated the power of the church.
This will have a big impact on Argentina's culture because the government was intertwinded with the church more than most places even if it was a cloudy line. The act to allow gay marrige was not desisive, that's where you can clealy see the everlasting divade in the persicution and difference of ideas. Still the government of Argentina was able to set an example and take a step to a more accepting coutry. This has not only affected Argentine but all of South and Latin America as they too strat to make new and more daring policies to further the seperation of religon and government.
